The Mitsubishi lineup has long straddled the line between sedans and SUVs, but no more. The brand recently revealed its decision to stop production of sedans and focus solely on its great SUV lineup for the foreseeable future. The decision was not without foreshadowing—the Mitsubishi Lancer has been fading from view and replacement vehicles remained shrouded in mystery. That and much of Mitsubishi’s focus have been on the Outlander models.
That mystery is now solved, and so we can turn our heads to new mysteries—like what new SUVs Mitsubishi might have coming down the pike in future years. For now, most of the press is going to the Mitsubishi Outlander, which just revealed a refreshed model for the 2016 model year.
The new Outlander features a facelifted exterior design, new powertrain and technology options, and general feature updates all across the vehicle. While the major changes might simply be aesthetic, the Outlander also comes as a plug-in hybrid model this year, the first time an EV version of the Outlander has been offered in the States. Come see us at Pete Moore Mitsubishi to learn more about this vehicle and how it might prefigure future Mitsubishi design today!
