While the Detroit Auto Show is grabbing headlines, Mitsubishi is already looking towards the future at the Geneva Auto Show in March. The automaker plans to unveil a brand new model: a new Mitsubishi crossover.
The new Mitsubishi crossover is said to be larger than the Mitsubishi Outlander but smaller than the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport – a small margin but a significant difference nonetheless. The vehicle should have tons of seating and plenty of cargo space.
We have learned that the crossover will be fueled by a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is said to be more powerful than the engine options for the current Outlander and Outlander Sport. We think it’s also safe to assume that the model will be more efficient.
The compact segment has been an intense one, with vehicle like the Chevy Trax and the Nissan JUKE competing with the Outlander and Outlander Sport. However, the Outlander and Outlander Sport ultimately outperform these challengers, and we’re sure that the new crossover will, too.
The vehicle is set to go on sale in early 2018, about a year from now, so hopefully we will know more information about it soon. In the meantime, to learn more about what Mitsubishi currently has in store, contact us or visit us anytime, here at Pete Moore Mitsubishi.
