Traveling for the holidays isn’t easy, as many travelers already know. Those heading out for their first time may be in for a surprise at the size of crowds, road congestion, and other major problems. Here at Pete Moore Mitsubishi, we have some excellent Thanksgiving travel tips to help streamline your holiday season!
- Technology – Travel-oriented technology has come a long way in the past few years. Apps can use real-time information to plot a course to avoid congestion, accidents, and other major road hazards. They can also plot a course based on fuel economy or time on the road. Airline apps hold all the information passengers need in one place while other apps offer a layout of some airports.
- Timing – Put simply, don’t try to travel the day before Thanksgiving. It’s the busiest travel day of the year, which means you’re likely to run into major problems and delays. Instead, try to travel the weekend or week before the holiday. By doing so, you could avoid major problems on the road or at the airport.
- Planning – Before the day arrives, make a schedule with time limits and stick to it. Leave early, arrive on time, and get through security well before your flight. On the road, leave at least an hour for unexpected delays or other problems.
