The 2016 Gakindo Indonesia International Auto Show kicks off on August 11th, but Mitsubishi has been generating hype since the end of July. A recent teaser photo seems to reveal the Mitsubishi MPV concept, a crossover vehicle that’s bound to be a hit in the Indonesian market as the body style grows in popularity. While the Japanese automaker hasn’t given away many details, a closer examination of the photo is quite revealing.
The body style is clearly that of a crossover that’s vaguely similar to the Mitsubishi eX concept. A closer look reveals that the MPV concept is longer than the eX and could rival competitors like the Honda BR-V.
Mitsubishi did confirm that the MPV concept would seat up to seven passengers thanks to its wide body and optimized interior. The concept version will likely be all-electric but a production model will more than likely run on petrol or be a form of plug-in hybrid.
The Mitsubishi MPV, should it make it to the production line, will likely be produced at the new complex near Jakarta, Indonesia. From there, the MPV will reach other Southeast Asian markets like Thailand.
We here at Pete Moore Mitsubishi can’t wait for the official unveiling of the MPV Concept vehicle!
