Just as Mitsubishi is rolling out the new and improved plug-in hybrid version of the Outlander, the sales numbers for the Outlander are rolling in and they are extremely impressive. According to a press release from the automaker, the Mitsubishi brand has seen sales increases for 18 months in a row. So far in 2015, sales are up almost 25% from what they were in same period last year.
The completely redesigned 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander has no doubt bolstered sales. The SUV features more than 100 improvements, from design to engineering. The plug-in hybrid version of the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander recently debuted at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The robust PHEV 2016 Outlander features separate motors for the front and rear axles. AutoBlog reports that “reduced engine friction” translates to less emissions and quicker acceleration.
With these consistently strong sales and the 2016 Outlander PHEV on the way, it would come as no surprise if Mitsubishi continues to grow in popularity.
